Opportunities
I am currently seeking postdocs and graduate students with expertise in natural language processing, computer vision, machine learning, robotics, and computational neuroscience.
If you are seeking a postdoc, please send me your CV and a few representative publications. Unpublished manuscripts (such as a soon-to-be-completed dissertation draft) are fine too.
If you are a student already at the UofA seeking an RA or other position, please contact me to schedule a face-to-face meeting with you. In addition to discussing projects I already have running, I am also interested in hearing about any projects you have that you think might benefit from machine learning and other computational modeling techniques.
If you are interested in attending grad school at the UofA but do not live in Tucson, then the best plan of action is simply to apply to the UofA through the normal application process. It may also be possible to meet with you at any conferences we are both attending.
Attention international applicants: Please go to http://www.cs.arizona.edu/graduate/ to learn about the requirements for application. We need to receive everything, including TOEFL scores, by early January. In general, sending me (or probably any other faculty in the U.S.) an email requesting a position outside the December-January timeframe won’t do you any good, particularly if you haven’t already sent (or are about to send) your application. While you may have noticed several international students in our department, every international student here went through the normal application procedure!
ALL: Please keep in mind that if you do contact me, I may not be able to respond right away, so if you haven’t heard from me within a week you may wish to send your email again. Please don’t take it personally, I get a lot of email (much more than I’d like)!
