Title: Computational Models of Protein Network Function and Evolution

Abstract: Complex networks of interacting proteins underlie all life. My group seeks to understand the function and evolution of such networks by building and analyzing detailed computational simulation models. We then connect the dynamics of networks to their evolution. Along the way, we grapple with computational issues of parameter optimization, sensitivity analysis, and the integration of disparate biological data sets. In this talk I will discuss some of these issues in the context of studying why some proteins evolve faster than others.
